A Stewardship of the Ordinary

Discovering God's Presence in Everyday Giving

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." - Colossians 3:17

This fall, our church is reflecting on the theme Along the Way: Discipleship of the Ordinary.
It’s a reminder that God calls each of us to follow Christ not only in the big, dramatic moments of life, but also in the small, daily ones—at home, at work, in our families, and in our community.

Jesus chose ordinary people to be His disciples—fishermen, tax collectors, and everyday men and women. In the same way, God calls us today to discover His presence in our ordinary routines and to live faithfully in all that we do.

In 2026, we also celebrate our 180th Anniversary—a powerful reminder of God’s ongoing faithfulness through generations of ordinary disciples who offered their gifts, prayers, and service to Christ’s church.

Thank you for living generously and faithfully, even in the ordinary. Together, God uses our everyday offerings for extraordinary purposes.

In gratitude,

What is Stewardship?

Stewardship is our response to God’s gifts.
The word stewardship means being a caretaker—recognizing that everything we have belongs to God and living in a way that reflects His generosity.

It’s not just about budgets or buildings—it’s about how we live with gratitude and purpose, using our time, energy, and resources to serve others and reflect Christ’s love in the world.

As we celebrate 180 years of ministry, we are reminded that faithful stewardship has always been the foundation of FPC’s mission.

Along the Way: A Stewardship of the Ordinary

Discipleship happens in the everyday.
Jesus met people where they were—mending nets, sitting at tables, walking along the road.
In the same way, God meets us in the ordinary moments of our own lives: in conversations, commutes, chores, and quiet times of prayer.

Stewardship is simply learning to notice and respond to God’s presence in those moments, to live with gratitude and intentionality right where we are.

“Giving isn’t separate from my daily life—it’s woven into it.”

A Time to Finish Strong

After the experiences we walked through together in 2025, it’s understandable that our pledged giving and our current needs aren’t completely aligned.

This moment gives our church family the chance to come together and finish the year strong.
Your continued generosity will keep our ministries vibrant, thriving, and making a difference in the communities we serve.
