Where Jesus Finds Us
The Gospel According to John John 21:1-14
- Rev. Dr. Bob Fuller
- April 26, 2026
In this sermon on John 21, Rev. Dr. Bob Fuller reflects on what we do when life feels confusing and out of control. The disciples, unsure of what to do after the resurrection, returned to what was familiar—fishing—but found only failure. It was in that place of emptiness that Jesus came to them, revealing Himself not only as risen, but as present and personal. By guiding them to a miraculous catch and inviting them to share a meal, Jesus showed that His purpose is to draw our attention to Him and restore relationship. The sermon reminds us that we often return to old habits when we feel lost, yet Christ seeks us even there. Like Peter, we are called to respond with trust and surrender, running toward Jesus rather than away. Ultimately, this message teaches that true restoration comes not from our efforts, but from Christ who finds us again and again and invites us into fellowship with Him.
