We persevere because we are the Lord’s (10)

The covenant love of the Lord will not let his people go! Believers persevere not by our work but because

-The Father’s eternal plan (for God’s glory- 17:4, 6, 9-10, 25-26)
-The Son’s atoning work (Believers are ransomed- Mark 10:45; Colossians 1:12-14)
-Faith given to believers (Believers are justified by faith alone- Galatians 2:16)

We persevere because we are kept in His name (11)

See notes from last week! But we must add Scripture’s emphasis for believers kept in Christ’s name.

-The Holy Spirit seals us (Ephesians 1:13-14)
-Jesus promises to keep us (John 10:27-30, Phil 1:6, Romans 8:29-39)
-Jesus prays to protect us (John 17, Luke 22:39-46, Romans 8:26-28, Hebrews 7:25)

We persevere because we are guarded (12)

 -By Christ’s work (1 Peter 1:3-5)
 -According to God’s word  (Psalm 41:9; Zechariah 11:12)
