The Table of the Lord

  • Rev. Dr. Bob Fuller
  • March 15, 2026

Rev. Dr. Bob Fuller reflects on Acts 2:42, focusing on the early church’s devotion to “the breaking of bread” and how table fellowship shaped the life of the Christian community. He explains that Jesus intentionally used the ordinary act of sharing meals to build both our relationship with God and our relationships with one another. Around the table, believers experience regular connection, deeper intimacy, and welcoming hospitality as they share life, conversation, and faith. The practice also points to the Lord’s Supper, where ordinary bread and wine remind the church of Christ’s sacrifice and the forgiveness offered through His death. Remembering Jesus at the table transforms simple gatherings into moments of eternal significance, where believers proclaim His death and celebrate His resurrection. In this way, Christian fellowship becomes a foretaste of the great heavenly banquet where God’s people will gather together forever.
