The Stewardship of Talents - Modern

Matthew 25:14-30

  • Rev. Scott Simpson
  • November 9, 2025

Rev. Scott Simpson’s sermon teaches that stewardship is about offering every part of our lives to God, not just our finances. Using the story of Bezalel and Oholiab from Exodus, he shows how God calls people by name and fills them with His Spirit to use their unique gifts for His glory. Rev. Simpson reminds us that our talents—whether creative, practical, or relational—are divine assignments meant to serve others and make God’s presence known in the world. He explains that even ordinary skills and life experiences can become holy when used for God’s purposes. Like the servants in Jesus’ parable of the talents, we are called to trust God enough to use what He has given us, not to hide it away in fear. Every gift, no matter how small, can have lasting impact when offered in faith. Ultimately, he encourages believers to see themselves as chosen instruments through whom God accomplishes His extraordinary work.
