The Lord’s Table: Do this in Remembrance of Me
- Whit Anderson
- March 15, 2026
Whit Anderson reflects on Acts 2:42–47 and explains why the Lord’s Supper was central to the life of the early church and remains essential for believers today. Rooted in the Passover story, the meal points to Jesus as the true Passover Lamb whose sacrifice frees us from sin and makes us God’s people. When Christians come to the table, they are called to remember Christ’s sacrifice, reflect honestly on their lives, and receive God’s grace with humility and gratitude. The bread and the cup serve as tangible reminders of the personal and costly love of Jesus. At the same time, the meal unites believers as one family, breaking down divisions and forming a community centered on Christ. Finally, the Lord’s Supper also points forward with hope, reminding the church that Jesus will return and that a greater feast awaits in God’s eternal kingdom.
