The Joy of Eternal Investing
2 Corinthians 9:6-15
- Rev. Dr. Paul Kacsur
- November 16, 2025
Rev. Dr. Paul Kacsur reminded the church that giving is really an act of investing in eternity. He taught that everything we have comes from God, and that when we give generously, God uses it to bear fruit far beyond our lifetime. He explained that Scripture calls us to give freely and cheerfully, not out of fear or pressure, but out of gratitude for God’s “inexpressible gift” in Christ. He encouraged the congregation to resist the pull of covetousness and to remember that earthly wealth will either leave us or we will leave it. True security, he said, comes from placing our treasure in God’s kingdom, where nothing can be lost. Rev. Kacsur also shared wisdom from C.S. Lewis, who said that real generosity should stretch us and teach us to trust God more deeply. In closing, he urged everyone to see their giving as a joyful investment in what lasts forever, confident that God knows both what we give and why we give it.
