The Christmas Story
Luke
- Rev. Dr. Joe Moore
- December 7, 2025
Rev. Dr. Moore opened by sharing his joy in baptisms and communion, and how meaningful it is to see people openly profess their faith in Jesus. He reflected on how Advent has become a treasured season for him, helping believers prepare their hearts to understand the gift of Christ more deeply. He explained that the Christmas pageant has long been a teaching tool in the church, bringing Scripture to life for people of all ages. Rev. Dr. Moore then read from Luke 2 and described the shepherds—ordinary, humble people—who were the first to hear the extraordinary news of Jesus’ birth. He emphasized how the angel’s message, “Fear not,” shows God’s desire to reach everyday people with His love and salvation. The shepherds’ fear turned to faith as they hurried to Bethlehem and found everything just as the angel said. Rev. Dr. Moore encouraged the congregation to receive this familiar story with fresh wonder and to remember how deeply God loves us. He closed by praying that this Advent season would lead each person into a more intimate, obedient, and joyful relationship with Jesus Christ.
