Simply Amazing: Saved by Grace
The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians Ephesians 2:1-10
- Rev. Dr. John Kaiser
- June 7, 2026
Rev. Dr. John Kaiser’s sermon on Ephesians 2:1–10 focused on the foundational Christian truth that we are saved by God’s grace through faith, not by our own works or achievements. He explained that all people are spiritually lost because of sin, but God, rich in mercy and love, offers salvation as a free gift through Jesus Christ. Drawing on the five solas of the Protestant Reformation—Scripture alone, Christ alone, grace alone, faith alone, and the glory of God alone—he emphasized that salvation rests entirely on God’s work rather than human effort. Dr. Kaiser contrasted the anxiety of trying to earn God’s favor with the assurance that comes from trusting in Christ’s finished work. He reminded the congregation that good works are not the means of salvation but the grateful response of those who have already been saved. The sermon also highlighted the importance of understanding and preserving these Reformation truths as the foundation of the Christian faith. Ultimately, believers are called to live lives of faith, service, and gratitude, giving all glory to God for the gift of salvation.
