Shared Grace: Fellowship in the Shadow of the Cross
- Rev. Scott Simpson
- March 8, 2026
Rev. Scott Simpson reflects on Acts 2:42–47 to show how the early church became a “community of the cross,” shaped by the grace of Jesus Christ. After experiencing God’s forgiveness through Christ’s death and resurrection, believers recognized that everything they had was a gift from God. Because of this, they held their possessions with open hands and generously shared with anyone in need. Their outward generosity flowed from an inward transformation rooted in gratitude for God’s grace. At the cross, all people stand equal—rich and poor alike—receiving mercy they cannot earn. This truth frees Christians from clinging tightly to what they have and instead calls them to faithful stewardship and loving generosity. When the church lives this way—bearing burdens, sharing blessings, and caring for one another—it becomes a powerful witness to the grace of Christ.
