Honest Doubt—Honest Faith - Modern

The Gospel According to John John 20:24-31

  • Whit Anderson
  • April 19, 2026

Whit Anderson’s sermon focuses on the story of Thomas to explore the struggle between doubt and faith. He explains that Thomas was not a bad disciple, but an honest one who wanted real proof before he believed. Many people today can relate, because life teaches us to be careful and question what is true. The sermon shows that doubt is not the absence of faith, but often part of the journey toward faith. Jesus responded to Thomas with both truth and grace, meeting him where he was and giving him what he needed to believe. When Thomas saw Jesus, he made a personal confession, saying, “My Lord and my God.” The message also teaches that gratitude and worship help fight doubt by reminding us of God’s goodness. In the end, believers are called to trust Jesus as the Good Shepherd and follow Him with a personal and growing faith.
