Feed My Sheep: Care for One Another - Modern

  • Rev. Kevin Germer
  • February 22, 2026

In this sermon on Gospel of John chapter 21, Rev. Kevin Germer reflects on how Jesus meets us in our deepest failures. After the resurrection, Jesus welcomes the weary disciples to breakfast and gently restores Peter, who had denied Him three times. Around a charcoal fire, Jesus asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?”—not to condemn him, but to heal him. The sermon reminds us that Jesus does not forgive us from a distance; He invites us to bring our real sin and shame into His presence so we can truly experience His grace. From that place of restoration, Jesus calls Peter to “feed my sheep,” showing that forgiven people become caregivers for others. Because Jesus is the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for us, we are freed and strengthened to love and care for one another in simple, faithful ways.
