“Do You Love Me More Than These?”

The Gospel According to John John 21:15-19

  • Rev. Dr. Paul Kacsur
  • May 10, 2026

Rev. Dr. Paul Kacsur preached from John 21, where Jesus asked Peter three times, “Do you love me?” after Peter had denied Him three times. He explained that Jesus was not shaming Peter, but lovingly restoring him and calling him back into ministry. The sermon emphasized two main truths: love for Jesus is required, and service to Him is expected. Dr. Kacsur challenged the congregation to honestly ask themselves whether they love Jesus more than their possessions, careers, or other earthly comforts. He reminded listeners that everything in this world is temporary, but what is done for Christ will last forever. On Mother’s Day, he reflected on the powerful love of mothers and shared how his own mother’s faithful encouragement helped lead him back to the Lord after a prodigal season in life. The sermon ended with a call to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, invest in God’s eternal kingdom, and faithfully help “feed His sheep” through love, service, and obedience.
