Abide in My Love: Remain with One Another

  • Rev. Larry Coulter
  • January 18, 2026

Rev. Larry Coulter reflects on Jesus’ words in John 15, where Christ calls His followers to abide in Him as branches remain connected to the vine. Jesus’ command to love one another is not given without help; it is made possible only by staying deeply connected to Him, who supplies life and strength. Drawing from horticulture, Rev. Coulter explains that fruitfulness comes through pruning, a process that can be painful but is always meant for growth and transformation. God’s work in us is not only about what we do, but about who we are becoming—people shaped by love, joy, peace, patience, and faithfulness. When we stumble or feel weak, God does not let go; instead, He tightens His grip on us as a loving Father. Abiding in Christ reminds us that our true source of life, love, and endurance comes from Him alone.
