Psalms 67:1-7

Rev. Andrew Adair preached on Psalm 67 for World Communion Sunday, reminding us that God blesses us not just for ourselves but so that all nations may know His love and saving power. He explained that blessings like peace, joy, and hope are gifts from God, but they are also meant to flow outward to others. Just as God told Abraham that all families of the earth would be blessed through him, Christians today are called to share God’s goodness with people near and far. Rev. Adair shared stories of believers who lived this out, such as a woman teaching English to refugees, a couple who moved to Asia to use their business skills for God’s purposes, and families who opened their homes to international students. He also told of Merlon, a man in Central Asia who moved his family to a village so he could show God’s love to his neighbors. These examples show that God often uses ordinary people to carry out His global plan. The sermon challenged listeners to consider how they might use their own blessings—resources, skills, and even where they live—to be a blessing to others. Rev. Adair closed by urging us to trust God’s leading and to embrace our high calling as people blessed to be a blessing.
