An Extraordinary Promise

Luke

  • Rev. Dr. Bob Fuller
  • November 30, 2025

This sermon reminds us that Advent is a season when God breaks into our ordinary lives with extraordinary grace. Rev. Dr. Fuller explains that the birth of Jesus may seem simple, but it fulfilled promises God made through the prophets long before that night in Bethlehem. He reflects on how Jesus Himself taught the disciples to see how every part of Scripture pointed to His coming as the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. The sermon also speaks tenderly to those who feel forgotten or in darkness, reminding us that God sees us and has already sent His light. Jesus came not as a powerful ruler but as a humble child who lived an ordinary human life and understands our struggles. Advent calls us to look back at what God has done, look forward to Christ’s return, and look around at how He is working now. In every season, God promises to be with us and shine His light into our hardest moments.
