
Disaster Relief Training
Disaster Relief Orientation & Specialty Training Weekend: San Antonio
This two-day training event is where Texans on Mission Disaster Relief begins. Participants will receive an introduction and overview of TXM Disaster Relief ministries, including mission, history, and opportunities to serve in areas such as Asset Protection, Chainsaw, Fire & Flood Recovery, Food Handling, and Shower/Laundry ministries.
Orientation (Friday evening) is required for all first-time volunteers and for those renewing credentials.
Specialty Training (Saturday) provides hands-on instruction in specific service areas. Orientation credentials are required for entry into disaster areas and are valid for five years.
Schedule:

Friday, Oct. 17: 6:30–8:30 PM – Orientation

Saturday, Oct. 18:
9:00 AM – Morning & All-Day Sessions Begin
12:00 PM – Lunch
1:00 PM – Afternoon Sessions Begin
Participants may choose one morning and one afternoon class, or a single all-day session. Chainsaw trainees should come dressed for field operations (long pants, long sleeves, and work boots required).
Registration is a two-step process:
